North Charleston Mayor read to the students before joining Lil Herbie in an exciting dance celebration. Lil Herbie, an anti-bullying mascot, is a beloved character designed to empower and educate children about self-worth
and perseverance.

I created the Lil Herbie Series to give children the confidence to use their voice, believe in themselves, and overcome challenges like bullying and self-doubt, said Sherrika Myers, founder of Every 1 Voice Matters. Literacy is the foundation of success, and through storytelling, were able to inspire the next generation. This initiative aligns with Read Across America, a national literacy movement that encourages children to embrace reading. With the help of Lil Herbie, community leaders, and local officials, Myers is making learning engaging, interactive, and fun.
