International Women’s Flag Football Association Announces 33rd Annual Kelly McGillis Classic

Key West, Florida Jan 21, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - The International Womens Flag Football Association (IWFFA) is thrilled to announce the 33rd annual Kelly McGillis Classic tournament, a premier event celebrating womens international flag football. Taking place in Key West, Florida, the weeklong tournament will run from January 21-27, 2025, with games held on January 24-26. The event will conclude with the exhilarating Annual World Challenge Game, where the USA All-Stars take on the International All-Stars. 

A Legacy of Empowerment and Competition 

The IWFFA was founded in 1997 by Diane Beruldsen to create a global network for women and girls passionate about flag football. Since its inception, the organization has introduced the sport to countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Jamaica, Afghanistan, and beyond. Today, the IWFFA continues to connect athletes across borders, fostering camaraderie, competition, and personal growth. 

"Our version of flag football is dynamic and inclusive, offering players of all skill levels the chance to succeed," says Beruldsen. "Some come to compete, others to connect or challenge themselvesbut every player walks away empowered." 

2025 Kelly McGillis Classic: A Global Gathering 

This years tournament will welcome teams from around the globe, including El Salvador, Pakistan, South Sudan, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Morocco, Sweden, and the United States. Attendees can look forward to a rich program that combines athletic competition with personal development, cultural exploration, and fun.
