Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Jun 7, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - Hindi cinema has a longstanding tradition of bringing social and historical issues to the forefront. Films like The Kashmir Files, The Kerala Story, and The Diary of West Bengal have exposed untold truths from different parts of the country. Now, another powerful film based on a real incident is set to reach the audience.
Director Akhilesh Kumar Upadhyay is bringing a new film titled "Karsevak", which is based on the historic 1990 firing incident on karsevaks (volunteers) in Ayodhya. The film portrays the sacrifices of those who lost their lives in the struggle during the Ram Mandir movement.
Produced by Aditya Nagar, Karsevak features music by Rashid Khan and stars Manoj Bakshi, Aayush Upadhyay, Ananddev Mishra, and Dr. Rajni Awasthi, with casting for other roles currently underway.
Producer Aditya Nagar has confirmed that the first title teaser of the film will be released soon, offering the audience an initial glimpse into its emotional depth and powerful subject matter.
This film aims not only to shed light on a sensitive chapter of Indian history but also to give voice to those whose sacrifices remain etched in the pages of time as unanswered questions.
