Mississauga, Ontario Apr 8, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - Rodan Energy Solutions Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of James (Jim) Fonger as President of its wholly owned subsidiary Rodan Distributed Energy Resources (Rodan DER).
Jim brings two decades of experience in the energy services sector with a focus on demand side solutions and development of battery energy storage and microgrid systems. Prior to joining Rodan, he was Vice President - Asset and Advanced Technology Development at Ameresco. Jim recently served as Chair of Energy Storage Canada and is a leader in the energy storage sector in North America.
I am thrilled to have Jim join the senior leadership team of Rodan Energy, stated Paul Grod, Rodans founder and CEO. We are especially excited that Jim will be leading Rodans new DER development business. As a developer, owner, and operator of DERs, Rodan will continue to deliver a comprehensive suite of solutions that provide a no-cost solution to our commercial and industrial clients - enabling them to achieve major energy cost savings while reducing their GHG footprint.
Rodan Energy pioneered the demand response industry in Canada. For over 20 years they have been leading the energy transition. Today Rodan Energy manages over 1,000MW of DERs in North America, including grid-connected and behind-the-meter battery storage, CHPs, microgrids and the full suite of power production and demand side response assets. They successfully operated the first grid-connected battery energy storage system, the first net-zero microgrid, and the first double conversion power quality battery and UPS system in Canada. Rodan DER will be scaling these capabilities and delivering sustainable energy solutions to North Americas leading commercial and industrial energy users.
We are really good at figuring things out and making it work - profitably, stated Grod. That is why we lead in every category we operate in.
Rodan DER will bring a dedicated focus on the development, ownership, and operation of distributed energy resources. Rodan Energy Solutions will support Rodan DER and continue to provide industry-leading solutions to reduce our clients energy costs and carbon emissions while improving the reliability and efficiency of the electricity grid.
The opportunity to lead Rodan DER in concert with the great team at Rodan is invigorating. Ive had the opportunity to lead the development and ensure the successful operation of numerous DER projects. Rodan Energy has been a key partner in the successful operation of these projects. They have delivered strong technical, regulatory and market solutions for full-scale market implementation and operation. Building an organization to focus on providing DER solutions to clients in concert with Rodans proven leadership in the profitable operations of these systems will bring significant value to Rodans customers, said Fonger. Im so glad to be leading this exciting team at Rodan.
With over two decades of experience in the energy field and strategically leading organizations, Fonger brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to head up this new division.
